This will again bring up the save file dialog. MacTeX installs many of the things needed to use TeX for typesetting. This is a large file and may take five minutes or more, depending on your internet connection to download. Double click on the PKG file and follow the installation instructions. You do not need to open anything after MacTeX is finished installing.

This is a text script file containing R commands that you will run. Double click on this downloaded file in your specified directory. This will open the file in RStudio. Shown below is only the top left pane of the four panes in RStudio and an example script file. You now want to run all of this code to install the packages listed at the top. To do this, click on the Source button in the upper right of the top left pane the one that has this code in it.

Would any one give me some suggestions? I played with other apps. But this is it. Great little app. Does what it states, and does it well. Definitely my preferred one for writing scripts, smoothly, quickly and easily. And yes, it is free and the developer is really prompt in case of need, and also this is not something you may find everyday. Thank you, developer. Like 1.

There is a fork from TeXmaker, it's TeXstudio. I just mention TeXstudio for someone who would like to try. Like 2. The versions listed here don't tell the whole story. The dev's site has versions of 4. Also, there is apparently a 4. I recommend you go there to see what will best suit your needs.
Sorry for the confusion - our related links were out of date. We've also added a note clarifying the difference between the two versions built for bit systems. This is mainly a bug fix release. Install R, RStudio, and TeX (Mac)
